This very long-standing premier cru was first planted in 1170 by monks from Citeaux Abbey. The wine is élevaged in oak barrels (60% new). On the nose, it expresses aromas of dark fruit (blueberry, blackberry) with smoky and spicy notes. On the palate, the tannins are beautifully refined, the texture is delicate and the length is noticeable.

The wine

This very long-standing premier cru was first planted in 1170 by monks from Citeaux Abbey. The wine is élevaged in oak barrels (60% new). On the nose, it expresses aromas of dark fruit (blueberry, blackberry) with smoky and spicy notes. On the palate, the tannins are beautifully refined, the texture is delicate and the length is noticeable.

About the Producer Domaine de la Ferté

Domaine de La Ferté, in Givry, belongs to the Devillard family who also own the Château of Chamirey and the Perdrix domaine. The vineyard is very small, less than 3 hectares, including a premier cru (La Servoisine). The vines are about 35 years old.
