The wine
A single parcel cuvée, Syrare is aptly named. The result of meticulous, rigorous work, this cuvée is a 100% Syrah whose yields are limited to allow the fruits to extract its quintessence. These are around 12-15 hl / ha. The berries macerate for 45 days and are then aged in new oak barrels for two years. The wine is then bottled without fining or filtration. Opened one hour before tasting, it gradually develops intense aromas of black fruit and spices. The wine is full, fleshy and generous. The tannins settle over time. Naturally, this wine is perfect with a fine piece of grilled meat and a homemade truffle-scented purée.
About the Producer Gallety
Alain Gallety is a true trailblazer who started with nothing. He has shown his talent for searching out exceptional off the radar terroirs and is a true tour de force! He is now an exemplary figure in the vast Côtes du Vivrais. The limestone and clay rich soils of this Ardèche domaine produce beautifully balanced wines made from Grenache and Syrah. The entire range is superb, from the entry level wines to the single vineyard cuvées. As for the history of this domaine, Alain Gallety made his viticultural debut in 1974 with his father in an area that would become the Côtes du Vivarais appellation in 1999. Today Alain manages the 15 hectares organic domaine with his son David-Alexandre.
