Château de Reignac Second Vin 1982
The wine
This wine offers a very fruity nose, (especially blueberry) with also some empyreumatic notes. On the palate, it is powerful and dense with a tight yet mature tannic structure and honourable length. This wine has excellent capacity to age and goes perfectly with red meats.
About the Producer Château de Reignac
Located in the Entre-deux-Mers region (in Saint-Loubès), the Château Reignac was built in the 16th century by Seigneur Baude de Peyron. Since 1990, it has been owned by Yves and Stéphanie Vatelot who elevated it, within a few years, to being one of the best domaines in Bordeaux with the help of the consultant oenologist Michel Rolland. The vineyard extends over 80ha in one piece; it is planted mostly with Merlot, but also Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and, over 2 ha, Sauvignon and Sémillon. In a few years this domaine could impose its style and show the full potential of its appellation. It is now recognised as one of the jewels of the region, able to rival the renowned crus of Bordeaux.
