Lot presentation
Pécharmant Andre Roche 1978
The wine
Pécharmant takes it name from "pech", meaning hill ("the charming hill") and is a red wine produced from gravelly, south-facing slopes on the left bank of the Dordogne. The same land used to be used to grow grapes for a sweet white wine called Rosette, but very little is now produced. Generally considered to be Bergerac's finest wine, Pécharmant tends to be full-bodied with a solid structure and a potential to gain complexity and finesse as it ages.
