Lot presentation

Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru Gros Frère & Soeur 1973

The wine

This grand cru exudes an extremely rich bouquet from its earliest youth. Although very well made, it should ideally be left to allow time to do its work, enabling its floral (violet, rose) and fruity aromas to evolve into other more complex aromas of licorice, pepper and vanilla. In the mouth, the wine reveals an exquisite, perfect mineral and tannic structure. This racy, elegant wine has been matured in new barrels. A real little gem, produced by one of the Côte de Nuits's flagship domains.

About the Producer Gros Frère & Soeur

From one of the oldest families of wine growers in Burgundy, Bernard Gros is today at the head of Domaine Gros Frère et Soeur, which has a total of 21 hectares and an absolutely exceptional grand cru heritage: Richebourg, Clos de Vougeot, Grands Echezeaux and Echezeaux. The 36.62 acre vineyard of Grands-échezeaux runs along Clos de Vougeot. Domaine Gros Frère & Soeur is located in Vosne Romanée. A dozen years ago, Bernard Gros replanted the vines to improve the quality. His wines are regularly hailed by critics.
