Trained by the best, Romain Le Bars delivers a complex and fruit-driven rosé that pairs well with food, which inquisitive wine lovers will be wise to age…
More infoA world apart from their Provençal cousins, Tavel rosés are flavourful wines that pair wonderfully with food. Crafted with the saignée method, they often display a relatively deep hue, vibrant and striking in the glass.
This cuvée, a blend of 60% Grenache and 40% Syrah, from one of the most promising protégés of the Eric Pfifferling’s (of Anglore fame) school of thought, offers a luscious structure and dazzling, juicy fruit. Expect a layered aromatic profile of strawberry purée, ripe red cherry, and a delightful backbone of spicy and floral nuances.
While already drinking beautifully, it will reward those who dare to let it age for a few years in their wine cellar. You won’t be disappointed…

About the Producer Romain Le Bars
Having honed his skills for seven years at Domaine de l’Anglore with the Pfifferling family, he eventually started making his own wine in 2018. At the time, his place of choice was Tavel, in the southern Rhône, where he purchased just 1.20 ha planted with Grenache and Syrah. There, he started producing his wines in his garage, and his two cuvées, Tavel and Vin de France, quickly caught the attention of connoisseurs.
And with good reason! Everything is carried out with meticulous care to craft the finest wines: low yields, manual harvests, low-intervention in the winery, very low doses of sulphur, gentle infusion-style extraction (a technique he mastered at Domaine de l’Anglore to showcase the fruit), carbonic maceration, and barrique ageing in used vessels.
Today, Romain’s success is there for everyone to see. He now owns 11 hectares of vines, with a far broader range of grape varieties, and has established a proper winery. Romain le Bars embodies the new wave of Rhône winemakers and promises a bright future for the region. Definitely one to keep a close eye on!
