Terre Siciliane IGT SP68 Azienda Agricola Arianna Occhipinti 2023

The wine

Produced from young vines from a parcel of a little more than two hectares, the cuvée SP68’s name comes from the road which runs alongside the vines. Fermentation and maceration take place in steel vats, as does the 6-month élevage. There is neither clarification nor filtration. On the nose, this wine has lovely aromas of citrus fruits (orange, grapefruit), notes of almond and orange blossom. On the palate it is perfectly balanced, with a nice tension and aromatic complexity, particularly on the finish, with aromas of flint and white tobacco. This wine can be drunk from now, for the next 6 years.

About the Producer Azienda Agricola Arianna Occhipinti

Arianna Occhipinti is a media star. At just 34 years of age, she has carved out a name for herself in the Italian wine world, and is the go-to name for biodynamic management in Sicily. Although she studied oenology at the rather technically-focused University of Milan, Arianna has never lost sight of the traditional teachings of her uncle whose small vineyard she inherited. Today, the domaine has expanded to 18 hectares, and Arianna Occhipinti is in regular contact with Nicolas Joly... great minds think alike!
