Château Faugères Grand Cru Classé 1998
The wine
This wine has a powerful red fruit bouquet and is at its best after ageing for a few years. Full-bodied, rich and concentrated on the palate, it develops woody, animal aromas with a hint of plums. Good aromatic length ensures a pleasant finish. The wines are aged for 14 months, half in new barrels. The property also produces a second wine, Haut Faugères.
About the Producer Château Faugères
Under the supervision of Pierre-Bernard and his wife Corinne Guisez, Château Faugères' wines reached a pinnacle of quality. This property and Peby Faugères were purchased by the business man Silvio Denz, who also owns Lalique. In 2011 a monumental new winery was inaugurated, designed by the architect Mario Botta.
