Château Soudars Cru Bourgeois 1981
The wine
Château Soudar's wines impress with their elegance, their aromas and their roundness, and are considered to be among the crus bourgeois that are most representative of the appellation. Furthermore, the property was promoted to Cru Bourgeois Supérieur status in the 2003 revision of the 1932 classification.
About the Producer Château Soudars
Soudars was the result of the consolidation of several plots, and a great deal of hard work that began in 1973. That was when Eric Miailhe acquired 15 hectares of fallow land in the locality known as Soudars; the soil was mainly clay-limestone, and was covered with large rocks, brambles and other undesirable plants. Today, Château Soudars, with Château Marquis de Cadourne with which it has been merged, has a very fine vineyard with 20 hectares of vines. The grapes are vinified in modern stainless steel vats, followed, naturally, by a period of barrel aging.
