Château Chambert-Marbuzet Cru Bourgeois 1990
The wine
Less tannic than neighbouring properties, the château Chambert-Marbuzet nevertheless shows great finesse and elegance. The property was promoted to Cru Bourgeois Supérieur status in the 2003 revision of the 1932 classification.
About the Producer Château Chambert-Marbuzet
Built at the beginning of the 19th century, this château was purchased by Hervé Duboscq, owner of the famous Château Marbuzet, in 1962. Chambert Marbuzet is vinified in the same way as the latter and in the same winery. The wines are matured in three-year-old oak barrels for 18 months. They draw their unusual character from the clay-limestone soil, which contrasts with the gravelly soil found in other vineyards in Saint-Estèphe.
