Bordeaux | 1957 vintage
A reasonable vintage despite the difficult weather conditions. A cold and rainy summer reduced the harvest. The wines, with an extremely high acid level, are firm, austere and can be cellared for a long period of time. Cos d'Estournel and Haut-Brion produced some very good wines, harmonious and remarkably well-balanced. In the Sauternes region the harvest was very poor due to spring frosts. Nevertheless, the wines are ample and elegant.
