Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru Chanterêves 2021
The wine
Chanterêves is definitely a gem in the world of Burgundy wine merchants. This microstructure is masterfully run by two wine enthusiasts who trained with eclectic and equally passionate professionals! They have a real interest in phytotherapy and place great emphasis on vinifying top-quality grapes grown by partner winegrowers. They aim high with this fine wine produced from the iconic Grand Cru of Corton Charlemagne. The Chardonnay grapes used to produce this wine thrive in an oceanic climate with semi-continental influences, drawing the nutrients they require from soils consisting of limestone, marl and clay. The wine is aged in oak casks, with a carefully considered proportion of new wood. Designed for long ageing, its yellow colour is tinged with gold, with a thick disk heralding generosity. On the palate, notes of white and yellow fruits, fresh butter and almonds, combine with vanilla and bread. The generous texture also reveals a remarkable minerality.
