An official single cask Glengoyne 32 year old (#985) matured in an ex-white Rioja cask (from northern Spain) and bottled at cask strength in 2005. A limited edition of 328 bottles.
About the Producer Glengoyne
Founded in 1883 by the Edmonstone family, the Glengoyne distillery—originally known as Burnfoot—is located in the southern Highlands, close to the border with the Lowlands, where the distillery's vaults are found. Primarily used for blends under the Laing Brothers from 1876 to 1965, and then Robertson & Baxter (an Edrington subsidiary), the distillery's first single malt was released in the 1970s. Glengoyne began to focus on this aspect of production in the 1990s and further developed its single malt range after it was bought by Ian Macleod in 2003. Long fermentation and slow distillation in stills with reflux bowls help craft this gentle, fruity whisky which is often aged in sherry casks.
