Chivas Of. 62 Gun Salute Royal Salute
The wine
Royal Salute 62 Gun Salute is a prestigious and very limited edition from the Royal Salute range. This expression was produced to pay tribute to the heritage passed down through four generations of master blenders at Chivas Brothers since 1953, the year in which the first Royal Salute was released. The name refers to the ceremony celebrating the crowning of Queen Elizabeth II, held every year at the Tower of London, in which 62 canons are fired. This exceptional blended scotch whisky marries the finest of Chivas Brothers' whiskies all aged for at least 40 years. The hand-cut, mouth-blown crystal bottle features two walls of crystal, a gold trim, a 24-caret gold-plated neck, and a crystal stopper with a gold-plated foil seal.
About the Producer Chivas Brothers
Created in 1838, the iconic brand first originated when James Chivas, the partner of an Aberdeen grocery store, began selling his first whisky blends. The boom in the production of grain whisky would enable the newly found Chivas Brothers company to release a huge number of successful blended whiskies in Europe and the United States. After being bought by Seagram - also the owner of the Strathisla distillery, which would become a base malt in the blends - and then by Pernod Ricard, the brand is today internationally renowned and offers a very wide range of whiskies, from entry-level bottlings to luxury whiskies.
