Willamette Valley Pinot Noir Nicolas Jay (no reserve) 2017
The wine
Willamette is what one could call a Burgundy-styled American signature. This dense and expressive Pinot Noir unveils a wonderful balance thanks to its juicy texture and its minerality. At once structured and refined, this complex wine is produced from organically and biodynamically-farmed grapes.
About the Producer Nicolas Jay
Nicolas-Jay is the American adventure started by Jean-Nicolas Méo (domaine Méo-Camuzet) and his friend Jay Boberg (musician). Jean-Nicolas Méo, who learnt the ropes from Henri Jayer, has managed the renowned Burgundian house Méo-Camuzet for 25 years and invested in a domain in Oregon. The vineyard is made up of 5 hectares planted with a majority of Pinot Noir, completed by Pinot Gris and some other varieties. The wine is produced for the American market. The first vintage produced by this domain is 2014.
