Meursault Les Chevalières Coche Dury (Domaine) 2004
The wine
Meursault Les Chevalières has an intense nose of toast, honey, and white flower aromas. Jean-François Coche-Dury, probably one of the best producers of white wines in the world, showcases the full extent of his talent with this formidably precise wine. A tremendous white to age for at least 10 years.
About the Producer Coche-Dury
Jean-François Coche-Dury is one of the world's leading figures for the vinification of white wines. In 1972 he took over the domain from his father who built it up in the early 1920's. Over the years he acquired new wine parcels. His domain, which today covers just over 10 hectares, counts 8.5 hectares of Chardonnay and Aligoté. He uses a vinification that reinforces the natural expression of the terroir without changing it: gentle pressing, regular stirring of lees in oak barrels, 50% of which are replaced every year. His style is inimitable; he creates pure and elegant wine whose finesse and persistency are quite remarkable. His wines are renowned and sought after by connoisseurs throughout the world. All Chardonnay amateurs must taste these wines.
