Cognac Prince Hubert de Polignac Fine Champagne VSOP
The wine
The "Part des Anges" ["Angels' Share"] is the poetic term used to describe the evaporation that occurs when Cognac is left to age in barrels. The term now refers to a yearly gathering, bringing the men and women of Cognac together for a charity event.
This year, the "Fée du Paradis" is representing the 4th edition of an event that was founded by the Interprofession du Cognac in 2006.
This auction sale offers collectors the opportunity to bid on truly exceptional, even unique, bottles of Cognac offered up by generous donors. Profit from sales will be donated to the Fondation de France.
Sleeping beauties tucked away for years now, these four beautiful Grande Champagnes du Paradis have gently been awakened by the Cellar Master, giving birth to an exceptional, powerful and delicate Cognac. A warm, voluptuous body blended with spiced notes of vanilla and cinnamon lead on to a whirlwind of flavours and woody, gingerbread, cocoa and candied fruit notes. The finish here is majestic, with notes of Russian leather rising to the surface and mirrored in the noble design of the case. The box is reminiscent of an old travel case, a unique artisanal piece from the Antarès saddlery in Saintes that houses a sumptuous crystal carafe clad in leather and enclosing this exceptional elixir. This prize was especially created for the `Part des Anges' 2009.
