Richebourg Grand Cru Vaucher Père et Fils 1969
The wine
This exceptional cru is the largest of the Vosne-Romanée’s six grands crus. La Romanée-Saint-Vivant is part of Romanée-Conti’s famous 12-bottle assorted case. The vines are located in chalk soils with a significant amount of clay and are subject to the utmost care. Of course the harvests are undertaken by hand, and the grapes are sorted at every stage. The vinification respects tradition in using only indigenous yeasts, for example. This wine stands out for its bright colour, a deep shade of ruby. The aromas, intensely fruity, bring a concentration of black cherry, raspberry and blackberry syrup. Vegetal notes blend in with this rich and distinguished ensemble. After a long ageing process, there is a finesse that marks this cru with exceptional quality.
