Information
Founded in Beaune in 1880, the Joseph Drouhin house is now run by the four children of Robert Drouhin. Present throughout Burgundy, but also in the United States in Oregon, its reputation is worldwide. It also has a domain of its own, including a vineyard of 72 hectares.
Domaine Drouhin oversees the viticulture, winemaking, farming and bottling of this parcel that belongs to the family Laguiche since 1363. The colour of Le Montrachet of Marquis de Laguiche is beautiful and shiny, displaying a nice gold light. To the nose it is not very expressive when young, but then becomes a true masterpiece after a few years in bottle. A multitude of fine grades appear in the glass: scents of exotic fruits and rare woods, melissa, toasted almonds, sometimes thrush or fish and even the scent of the vine flower. Caught in the mouth, the wine shows a real structure, an architecture in which the freshness slightly takes over the feeling of fullness without decreasing it too much. Persistence, exceptionally long, strengthens the feelings already obtained, and retains the fine print of the whole.
