Information
Domain Marc Kreydenweiss is a family affair: it was originally created by Marc Kreydenweiss, who then passed the reins over to his son Antoine, seconded by his wife Charlotte and daughters Zoé, Lilou and Léonie. At the foothills of the Vosges, the estate has a wide variety of soils, spans 13.5 hectares and owns four Grands Crus. The vineyard has been farmed biodynamically since 1999 and natural vinifications allow the terroir to shine through in all its typicity and character. We particularly appreciate their refined, concentrated wines which are energized by a nice acidity.
The Gewürztraminer vines used to produce this wine originate from the Clos Rebgarten locality, in the heart of the charming village of Andlau. The soil in this small parcel is varied, rich and complex, consisting mainly of granite sand alluvium. The plot is ploughed exclusively with a draught horse, and biodynamic viticulture methods are the order of the day on the estate. In the winery, the hand-picked grapes macerate in whole bunches and fermentation is triggered spontaneously. The cuvée is aged for several months in demi-muids (600-litre barrels) before bottling.
The intensely golden colour promises a powerful and complex bouquet. The nose is characterised by intense aromas of orange, citrus peel and aromatic herbs. On the palate, tropical fruit and sweet spice aromas combine beautifully in a clean, deep texture, leading to a deliciously long finish. This cuvée will age wonderfully in your cellar.
