Information
Grown from a mutation of the Pinot Noir variety, Pinot Meunier is now one of the most prominent Champagne varieties, covering almost 9,000 hectares. This white grape with black skin does particularly well on clay and limestone soil. Each plot of Pinot Meunier, where the vines are more than 50 years old, is cultivated using organic farming techniques, leaving each vine free to extract the nutrients necessary to flourish. Once harvested, the grapes undergo a traditional winemaking process, leaving the grapes to ferment with little outside intervention. The grapes ferment in vats using the native yeast on the skin.
This cuvée flaunts a slightly effervescent texture with rich aromas of red berries and apple, accompanied by floral notes and a touch of spice. The full-bodied mouthfeel showcases crisp and refined fruit flavours which evolve into a long finish with a pleasant fruitiness and minerality.
