Information
The Chardonnay vines originate from the Les Levrons climat, planted in 1947 and constituting the oldest plot of Chardonnay on the estate. The name, which was short for the word ‘lièvre’ (hare) in the 14th century, refers to the abundant presence of these animals throughout this landscape. Each vine benefits from an ideal south-easterly exposure at an altitude of around 230 metres. The brown limestone soils, consisting of marl beds, provide the vines with all the nutrients they need to thrive. To preserve the freshness of the fruit, harvesting is completed early and the grapes are vinified according to traditional methods.
The slightly bright yellow colour reveals a delicate floral nose with scents of almond and hazelnut. On the palate, luscious honey flavours melt into a concentrated texture, building to an intense, fresh and flavoursome finish. A few years’ cellaring will be enough for this cuvée to unveil its full range of aromas.
