Information
In 2005, the best terroirs belonging to Domaine Vico, a 77-hectare estate managed by Jean-Marc and Manu Venturi, were separated from the domain to create Clos Venturi (25 hectares today). The vines once belonged to the Vico family (purchased in 1901) and were then bought by the Acquaviva Venturi family at the end of the 1980s. The estate’s goal is to highlight the diversity and characteristics of local varieties.
Today, the vines - Vermentino for the whites and Syrah, Niellucio and Sciaccarellu for the reds and rosés - are tended to with the greatest respect to produce unique, high-quality wines. Animals working in the vineyards, a HVE (a French High Environmental Value) certificate and organic farming methods as well as manual harvests, plot-by-plot selection and fermentation started by natural yeasts are just some of the methods at the domain.
An iconic estate in the Corsican winegrowing landscape, Clos Venturi lovingly crafts an intensely fruity cuvée blending a variety of grape varieties from the region, including Niellucciu, Sciaccarellu, Aleatico, Minustellu, Carcaghjolu Neru and Moresconu, all of which grow on schist and granite soils. Each plot of vines reaps the benefits of organic viticulture combined with biodynamic methods. The grapes are harvested entirely by hand to preserve the quality of this raw material. And gentle, low-intervention vinification helps reflect all the finest facets of the Corsican terroir with great finesse.
The rich, intense ruby colour reveals an expressive bouquet, combining generous black fruit aromas with subtle hints of spice. The intense, rich palate bursts with the delicious flavours of red fruit from the emblematic Corsican grape varieties, leading to a flavourful, elegant and persistent finish.
