Information
It took almost nine years for the Carabello-Baum family originally from San Francisco to find the perfect location to produce superb cuvées in France. They finally established their new family home in the Château de Pommard, representing the fifth family to settle at the estate, to develop all its charm and full potential. Michael Baum, alongside his wife Julie and their twins Zachary and Jackson, aims to transcend Burgundy viticulture while preserving the estate’s traditional values. He undertook extensive renovation and modernisation work on the vathouse in 2017. And since 2019, he has been converting the twenty-plus hectares of vines at Clos Marey-Monge to biodynamic viticulture, to produce exceptional wines in harmony with nature. Over the years, the family has become increasingly attached to France, and in particular to the emblematic Burgundy terroir.
