Information
Managed by Catherine Buisson and her husband Patrick Essa, Domaine Buisson-Charles encompasses around 8 hectares of vines planted mainly in the surroundings of the Meursault appellation. As of 2020, the domain is in the process of organic transition, though particular care has always been given to the vines and no weed killers have ever been used in the vineyard. Particularly concentrated due to the age of the vines (30 to 90 years), the wines from this domain are made to be aged. In 2011, the domain developed their own merchant activity with prestigious crus in Chablis, Puligny-Montrachet and Corton-Charlemagne. In these wines we find the same level of work as in those made from property grapes. There are also new innovations and methods tried out each year, hence the vinifications in whole harvests for the reds, a process that brings a crisp quality and bright personality.
This passionate and committed winemaker strives to produce premium wines without making any compromises, particularly when it comes to environmental concerns. Firmly focused on the future, the estate follows the principles of sustainable viticulture. The estate is currently in the process of obtaining its organic certification. From the outset, the soil has been cultivated by tillage, without chemical fertilisers or weedkillers. This scrupulously natural approach is also at the heart of the vinification and ageing process.
This 100% Pinot Noir displays an intense red colour and an expressive bouquet, with fresh aromas of black and red fruit, such as blueberry and redcurrant, mingling with hints of violet. The precise and fresh mouthfeel affirms the delicate aromas of the nose while revealing subtle hints of spice and leading to an incredibly persistent finish. This cuvée offers exceptional ageing potential.
