Information
The Rio Negro Valley provides the superb Argentinian backdrop for this cuvée named after the river that runs through Patagonia. The latter plays a very special role, as Bodega Noemia ingeniously uses it to irrigate its crops. To produce this cuvée, the estate sources the best Malbec and Merlot grapes from producers in the Mainque region, where the plots are managed by the teams at Bodega Noemia throughout the year. This blend is rounded off with a small percentage of Petit Verdot to add structure to the tannins and perfect the wine’s powerful aromas.
The vines, around fifty years old, are harvested by hand and produce beautiful fruit, which are pressed early to preserve the suppleness of the tannins. The juices ferment for 10 days with no temperature control, before being aged for 9 months, 20% in old French oak casks and the rest in stainless steel vats to limit the influence of wood on the flavours of the fruit.
