Information
This wine was crafted from old vines grown in the pretty Pernand-Vergelesses appellation, in the far north of the Côte de Beaune with the famous Corton hill. Domaine Françoise Jeanniard is located in the village and cares for just under three hectares of vines. Those in question are over sixty years old and looked after well, without any weed killers (since 2002) and sustainable agriculture which follows the French HVE approach.
This wine, aged in barrels, is a brilliant ruby colour, while its nose is full of red and black fruits, cherries and blackberries. Its silky palate contains fine tannins. This balance cuvée is complex and tends to become more delicate if it spends up to 10 years in the cellar. This wine, which is only produced in small quantities each year (up to 3500 bottles), will pair well with a leg of lamb.
