Information
Château Croizet-Bages, like many other Pauillac wines, is located on the famous Bages plateau. In 1853, two years before the renowned 1855 classification, Château Croizet-Bages became the property of the Calvé family, leading to a slight change in the name, to Château Calvé Croizet-Bages, which the property kept until 1934. After that, Paul Quié acquired the château, which has since remained in the same family. The vineyard went through a long restructuring phase that lasted about 20 years. Up until the harvest in 1986, there was just one old concrete vat. Since then a new winery has been built in order to improve the quality of the vinification process. Paul Quié's descendants also own Château Rauzan-Gassies, a second growth in Margaux, and Château Bel-Orme-Tronquoy-de-Lalande.
Twenty year-old vines and traditional vinification produce fruity, round and easy-to-drink wines. The bouquet has blackberry and raspberry aromas with a graphite note.
