    About the producer

Albert Bichot is an illustrious maison of Burgundy. The family settled in Burgundy in 1350 but it was only in the 19th century that it became interested in the vine and vineyards. In 1831, Bernard Bichot developed a trading house in his name. Since 1996, Alberic Bichot (6th generation) has been working to raise the quality of wines produced. He acquired many plots, meaning that the maison now has 100 hectares of vineyards. Here we find the Clos Frantin on the Côte de Nuits, the Domaine du Pavillon and the Domaine Adélie on the Chalonnaise coast as well as the Domaine Long Depaquit in Chablis. These wines are certified as organic. At the same time, the maison carries out its trading business by purchasing only carefully selected grapes. The wines are all vinified in Beaune under the leadership of the very talented Alain Serveaux.

    About the wine

This wine company, founded in 1831, knew how to travel through the centuries and has kept the company within the same family. One of founder’s descendants, Albéric Bichot, has produced the estate’s wine since 1996. Since then, the business has found the spark it had years ago by taking care with its ageing process and the quality of its grapes while also keeping quality consistent.
This Bâtard-Montrachet comes from a plot of land situated below the famous Montrachet, a powerful and mineral Grand Cru. The wines produced from the Bâtard-Montrachet are grown on a slight slope, but they possess a powerfully earthiness and minerality as well as being wonderfully elegant. These are wines that should be carefully stored in the cellar for a few years, allowing the aromas of orange blossom, peach, white flowers, nuts, orange, yuzu and finger lime to develop. These complex wines are like an introduction to the great white wines found throughout Burgundy.
