Information
Les Landions is a Swiss Pinot noir from a single-parcel selection in Cortaillod, a commune in the Neufchâtel appellation. This parcel spans three hectares and has rich, complex soil. Chalk, limestone, clay, and pebbles all offer their nutrients to the Pinot noir grown here. The yields are extremely limited. Pruned following the Guyot method, the grapes are harvested by hand, carefully sorted, and placed in 10kg boxes to avoid getting damaged en route to the winery. The grapes are fermented in heat-controlled vats before a cold maceration to extract flavour and colour. Fermentation takes 30 days and is instigated by indigenous yeasts. The wine is matured in casks for 21 months before being bottled without fining or filtering. In the glass it has a garnet red colour from which an intense aromatic bouquet is given off. We get maturation notes like liquorice and fruit such as raspberry and plum. On the palate it carries a certain distinction with its supple tannins and juicy fruit.
