Information
Domaine Charlopin-Parizot, located in Gevrey Chambertin, was created in 1977 and then taken over by Philippe Charlopin. It currently covers 25 hectares of beautiful terroirs, distributed over the Côte de Nuits, Côte de Beaune and Chablis, with several grand crus. Its wines are succulent with superb élevage.
Domaine Charlopin-Parizot is reputed for its magnificent parcel of terroirs where there are some superb grands crus. This emblematic Gevrey-Chambertin producer here proposes a cuvée made from especially ripe harvests. The grapes are thoroughly sorted before long maceration and fermentation that extracts colour and flavour. The wine is then matured in new, oak casks.
In the glass this cuvée has a deep, ruby colour and a concentrated aromatic bouquet. On the nose we find notes typical of this noble varietal such as red and black fruit (redcurrant, cherry, blackcurrant, raspberry) as well as more complex floral, oaky, and toasted hints. These aromas introduce a palate that balances silkiness and concentration, delicate tannins, and a persistent finish. We recommend waiting for at least three years after the vintage before opening this cuvée and enjoying it with flavourful, autumnal dishes. Mushrooms, squashes, and game will all pair nicely.
