Information
Jean-Jacques Robert has managed the Robert-Denogent family domaine since 1988. It is a small vineyard of five hectares divided between Fuissé and Solutré-Pouilly. The élevage is long and done gently. The wines are classy and full of character.
Domaine Robert Denogent crafts this cuvée using 80-year-old Chardonnay vines grown in a complex soil of clay, brown soil, pebbles, and chalk.
This domain passes on its family know-how through organic-style growing and meticulous vinification. Both alcoholic and malolactic fermentation takes place in 228-litre, Burgundian barrels, and the wine is matured on lees for 18 to 30 months. The exact duration varies depending on the vintage and this stage involves no intervention.
Unsurprisingly, this is a full-bodied wine with a richness lifted by acidity typical of the earth and the varietal used. It carries generous aromas of white flowers, white and yellow fruit, hazelnut, almond, and butter.
This cuvée calls for gastronomic pairings with creamy and buttery dishes. It can be enjoyed from today or after ageing for a short while.
