Information
Enologist and nephew of Marcel Lapierre, Philippe Pacalet has been producing top-quality wines since 2001. The key to the success of his négociant business is his desire to best express the terroir, his meticulous vinifications, non-interventionist methods and his discerning use of minimal doses of sulphur. His extremely natural wines have stunning balance and for the most part, excellent aging potential.
This Gevrey-Chambertin premier cru comes from a chalk-clay terroir rich in pebbles. Located under the Mazis Chambertin grand cru, the plot is defined by its south-westerly orientation which brings freshness and sunshine to the Pinot Noir. Vinified naturally without sulphur, the wine has matured for 17 months and its substance is balanced between fleshiness and elegance. Round and fruity, it is enlivened by a superb minerality and notes of small berries and flowers. A lovely wine that will nicely accompany dishes like small game
