Information
As is the case with many winemakers, Emmanuel Brochet has inherited his vocation for wine from his family and his father’s vines. A rare fact in the viticultural landscape of Champagne, the domain is run according to organic principles in order to let its micro-terroir express all its individuality. The plants grow over a little more than two hectares and benefit from the effect of a varied soil composed of clay, chalk and limestone. Unsurprisingly, the harvest is also carefully surveyed in order to ensure that only the best of each vintage makes it to the winery. There, Emmanuel Brochet vinifies his wine in oak barrels for a ripe and precise result.
Le Mont Benoit is a premier cru that Emmanuel Brochet has chosen to bring to the fore through this wine made largely from Pinot Meunier as well as Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grown following organic methods and matured in oak barrels. Whilst livened by a fine freshness, this Champagne is especially attractive for its power. Its aromatic bouquet is marked by notes of yellow fruit and dried fruit. Its juicy texture is nonetheless lightened by a striking freshness and a finish that could be described as having a clay quality.
