Information
With 18.5 hectares spread over six appellations, Olivier Lamy – who runs the estate – is one of the best ambassadors of the Saint-Aubin appellation, which is sadly not well known and produces a superb alternative to Chassagne wines. These wines are perfectly pure, taut and elegant thanks to the carefully ageing work.
The Lamy family has been working in Saint-Aubin since the mid-17th century. It was Hubert Lamy, Olivier’s father, who created the estate in 1973 with eight hectares of vines. The property grew in the 1990s before Olivier Lamy joined his father in 1995 after finishing his studies in wine. Father and son bridge the worlds of tradition and innovation together before Hubert passed away in 2022 at the age of 79.
In the vineyard as in the winery, the work is carried out meticulously following organic principals (non-certified). The different terroirs are vinified separately in 600-litre barrels (with very little new wood). A not-to-be-missed estate in the Côte de Beaune!
The result of an extremely attentive vinification, this Puligny-Montrachet is characterised by a long maturation in the domain’s cold cellars, an environment that lends itself well to the development of pure and exceptionally refined wines. Thus, this wine presents a complex and elegant bouquet with notes of vanilla, white fruits, citrus and lemongrass, and a silky texture balanced by the minerality derived from the terroir. Delicious after over ten years of ageing, it will naturally pair beautifully with fine, gastronomic dishes.
