Information
The Château de Marsannay has 28 hectares on the most beautiful terroirs of Marsannay (Champs Perdrix, Clos du Roy, Les Longeroies, Les Echezots, Les Grasses Têtes, Les Crais and so on). It has belonged to Olivier Halley (Château de Meursault) since 2012, who has invested heavily in the property. This seems to have paid off and nowadays the Château de Marsannay’s production is very interesting
This indulgent, concentrated Marsannay is produced in three parcels in Les Flavières, one of the 11 climats of the Marsannay appellation. Incidentally, this climat is currently the subject of a premier cru classification request. It should be drunk after 5-7 years, and will be perfect with white meat and autumn vegetables. Its production involves harvesting by hand, with sorting prior to the total destemming of the grapes, cold pre-fermentation maceration, and cap punching and pumping over during fermentation. The wine is then matured in new oak barrels before undergoing 13 months' élevage in casks.
