Information
étienne Baldès planted his first Cahors parcels in 1830. Six generations later, Jean Luc Baldès has masterfully raised the family domaine to the top level of the Cahors appellation, constantly introducing innovative production techniques. Located to the south of Cahors, near Puy l'Evêque, the domaine is nestled between the meandering river Lot and spreads over 70 hectares. Its clay-limestone soil, similar to Pomerol's soil composition, is perfect for producing great vintages.
The Château’s Cahors is made predominantly with Malbec and matured in oak barrels for 18 months. Crafted with ageing in mind, it is deep in colour with notes of very ripe dark fruits, sweet spices, cocoa and a subtle hint of wood.
