Information
The history of Château Gobelsburg, situated in the region of Kamptal to the west of Vienna, goes back to the 12th century. It has belonged to Cistercian monks from Zwettl Abbey since the 13th century, with Michael and Eva Moosbrugger in charge (since 1996). The vineyard is spread over 39 hectares in Kamptal and Kremstal, planted with Grüner Veltliner (50%), Riesling (25%) for whites and 25% red grape varieties: Blauburgunder (10%), Saint Laurent (7%), Zweigelt (5%) and Merlot (3%).
Produced from 50-year-old vines, this cuvée has a distinctive nose of varied fruits (citrus, white fruits), its mineral, saline notes (white pepper). On the palate, the wine is vibrant and juicy, with mineral flavours and ripe fruits. Balanced and elegant.
