Information
Cims de Porrera is a new winemaking project in the Priorat region, which aspires to revitalise a former village wine cooperative and produce quality wines to suit contemporary palates. The winegrowers involved share the ambition of offering quality wines from old vines.
The Cims de Porrera cooperative has stayed faithful to its ambition to keep its old vines productive with this wine crafted from grapes cultivated at altitude (350-500 metres) on 40 to 100-year-old stocks. The wine is powerful and complex, with intense aromas of dark fruit, chocolate, liquorice, coffee and vanilla, and a hint of the undergrowth. The palate is flavoursome, fresh and full. It is also intensely fruity with a nicely blended mineral quality to enhance it all the more. Keep for some years in the cellar and transfer to a carafe to allow its tannins to soften. This persistent wine is perfect with strongly-flavoured dishes.
