Information
étienne Baldès planted his first Cahors parcels in 1830. Six generations later, Jean Luc Baldès has masterfully raised the family domaine to the top level of the Cahors appellation, constantly introducing innovative production techniques. Located to the south of Cahors, near Puy l'Evêque, the domaine is nestled between the meandering river Lot and spreads over 70 hectares. Its clay-limestone soil, similar to Pomerol's soil composition, is perfect for producing great vintages.
The region can be very proud about making such an astonishing wine. Produced in very small quantities, the berries in this cuvée are harvested late (winter) and the wine is fermented and matured for three years. It is exceptional to drink, with notes of candied fruits, honey and marmalade jostling for prominence, and a superb vivacity for balance. Aromatic persistence and indulgence are the lasting impression. This wine can be paired with desserts or enjoyed on its own.
