The Campi di Fonterenza domaine in Sant' Angelo in Colle (in south Montalcino, Tuscany), is run by sisters Margherita and Francesca Padovani, known as the “Brunello twins”. They bought this former farm and began by growing olive trees there, before planting their first vines in 1999 and producing their first wine in 2004. Passionate about their terroir and eager to learn, they have embarked on biodynamic vineyard management and are trying to cut back on sulphur use. These two self-taught winemakers produce very fine wines which deserve a higher profile.

Pettirosso has an attractive ruby appearance and a bouquet of fresh red berries. Its palate is perfectly well balanced and structured, with a crisp, lively freshness. The tannins are perfectly integrated, and its aromatic persistence suits it will for local gastronomic pairings, such as pizza or Lasagna Bolognese!
