Le Clos Marie is without doubt the Pic Saint-Loup's most beautiful domain, and among the most sought-after by switched-on connoisseurs. From their twenty or so hectares of vines, Christophe Peyrus and his wife Françoise Julien have achieved miracles since 1995. Their vines are biodynamically cultivated, with long, careful élevages. Les Métairies du Clos Blanc is blended from grapes produced by old vines (around 60 years old) and cultivated at extremely low yields (approximately 12 hectolitres per hectare). The nose offers aromas of candied apricots with notes of sweet spice and almond and a delicate hint of wood. The palate strikes a skilful balance between creamy and acidic and is nicely fruity and rounded with a lingering finish. This wine pairs well with poultry, fish and shellfish.
