Information
Located in the heart of the Côte d'Or, in Chassagne-Montrachet, Domaine Bachelet-Ramonet has 13 hectares of vines. Four generations of wine growers have headed this family farm and, today, it is Alain Bonnefoy and his wife who hold the reins. Furthermore, their wines, of a fairly classical style and consistent quality are reasonably priced.
Bienvenues Bâtard Montrachet is a sublime, highly refined and very delicate wine. The nose offers a complex bouquet, blending aromas of fruit (peach predominantly) and flowers (honeysuckle), subtle woody notes and a hint of menthol. It is rich and full on the palate but this wine also has a subtlety and noticeable vivacity to it. This creamy and powerful white is the perfect pairing for sauce-based poultry dishes or fish and seafood dishes such as scallops. Ideally, this bottle should be aged for a good ten years to allow all its complexities to fully develop.
