Information
Domaine Georges Mugneret-Gibourg was created in 1933 by Jeanne Gibourg and André Mugneret. Their son, Georges Mugneret, took over the domaine and expanded it. Marie-Christine and Marie-Andrée, the daughters of Georges and Jacqueline, now run it. The vineyards are distributed over the appellations of Nuits-Saint-Georges, Vosne-Romanée, Chambolle-Musigny, Ruchottes-Chambertin and Clos Vougeot. The wines of this domaine have a very classic style and its quality has improved a lot in recent years. The cuvées can be presented under two labels, Georges Mugneret and Mugneret-Gibourg.
In a pebbly and sparse soil, the vines dig deep to find their energy and offer a powerful wine. Due to the winemaker’s attentive work, it is also elegant and refined. It has a bright, garnet colour. Its nose expresses aromas of peony, ripe strawberry and oaky notes. It is generous on the palate with superb balance and a persistent finish. Fantastic ageing potential.
