Information
François Gerbet is originally from the Pyrenees and decided to move to Vosne-Romanée in 1947 with his wife Suzanne Sirugue. Over the years, he has bought parcels, including Les Réas, excellently located between Vosne-Romanée and Nuits-Saint-Georges. From 1972, two of his three daughters began to work with their father before taken over the running of the domain in 1983. They farm their vines following environmentally friendly methods. In 2013, Amélie Berthaut bought a part of the domain, which then changed name in 2015: it is now Domaine Berthet Gerbet.
Classified as Vosne-Romanée Village, this climat benefits from the perfect location on a terroir of clay and limestone. Vinified with as little intervention as possible in order to express the purity of its fruit, this Pinot Noir is matured in oak barrique barrels (1/3 new wood). Made to be kept in the cellar for a few years, it will develop a fullness, generosity and richness which suit it perfectly for pairing with meat in sauce.
