Information
The St. Urbans-Hof domaine, named after the German patron saint of wine producers, is located in Leiwen in the German Moselle region. It was founded in 1947 by the grandfather of the current owner, Nik Weis. The vineyard also extends into the Saar and now covers 34 hectares. The domaine is mostly planted with Riesling, with a small amount of Müller-Thurgau and Pinot Blanc (Weissburgunder in German).
Piesporter Goldtröpfchen Riesling Spätlese is the property’s flagship cuvée and a wine with a worldwide reputation. It is produced from a top-quality vineyard in the heart of the Mosel region and is highly complex, with aromas of white-fleshed fruit and apricot. The balanced and distinguished palate offers up a wonderful texture and a pleasing acidic structure with mineral notes. Its length is very impressive.
