Information
Jean Christophe Comor started producing his certified organic wines in 2004, following a herculean effort cutting down trees, clearing stumps and preparing the land for replanting vines! One-time parisien and professor at the prestigious Sciences Po university, his winemaking whim has well and truly paid off; now producing wines with a unique character, elegance and complexity and in a style which improves with each vintage. One to watch.
Abracadabrantesque is a blend of two native varieties: Mourvèdre and Carignan. Their 30 year-old vines are grown according to organic methods and thrive on the clay-limestone soils of this domaine, yielding around 30 hl/ha. Harvests are manual and the fruit is meticulously sorted and de-stemmed prior to fermentation in Burgundian barrels and foudres for a year before bottling. This is a powerful, complex wine for either drinking young or cellaring for a good 10 years. An infinitely pleasurable food wine which pairs spectacularly well with lamb tagine.
