About the producer

Lafarge is a family-owned domain of 12 hectares, established in Volnay since the 19th century. Since then, each generation has strived to make it prosper and grow. In 1949 Michel and his father ran the domain; his son Frédéric joined them in 1978. From 1997 he started to use biodynamics in the domain and since 2000 all the vineyards are organically cultivated.

About the wine

This wine is vinified with natural yeasts and matured with 15% new wood. On the nose it has aromas of red and black fruits, raspberry in particular, as well as empyreumatic aromas. On the palate, we find a pleasant freshness which balances out the numerous (albeit fine) tannins, vivacity and fruity aromas.
