Information
Situated in Rioja province, this domaine is close to the Ebro river and nearly 150 hectares of old indigenous grape variety vines are cultivated, including Tempranillo, Graciano and Mazuelo. The old vines produce complex wines.
Roda I has rapidly become a reference in the appellation since its first vintage in 1992. Grapes are sourced from 17 plots spread across Rioja Alta and Baja from vines of old Tempranillo and consequently very low yields. The wine undergoes a maturation of 16 months in French oak barrels and then lays for a minimum 20 month in bottle. Dark, intense, with black fruits dominated by plum aromas. In the palate, bold with sweet tannins, a long and fresh finish. A wine of character, that will age beautifully.
