About the producer

Nervi is the oldest working domaine in Gattinara, a village in the northern Piedmont. The volcanic soil gives the Nebbiolo grapes (known locally as “spanna”) an outstanding subtlety. The aromas of the wine reap the benefit of the temperate climate in these beautiful hills which are sheltered from the north winds by the Monte Rose massif and protected from the summer heat by their good height above sea level. While it is not among the big-hitters Nervi, probably produces some of the finest wines in Italy from its 24 hectares of vines.

About the wine

Cuvée Valferana is produced from vines located 320 metres above sea level and is aged for at least 40 months. This rather pale wine boasts a fine minerality, while also delivering fullness and richness. An extraordinarily delicate and elegant wine.
